Find Your Perfect Companion at Illinois Golden Retrievers Breeder

Prenatal period

Ensuring that your puppy's genetic material is of the highest quality is just the beginning. The physical and mental health of the mother will impact the wellbeing of her puppies. Since studies indicates that pups born to mothers who receive prenatal massage are more submissive and prefer being handled, we lavish our mothers with attention and belly rubs. Even before they are born, puppies are predisposed to create close and profound bonds.

NEONATAL PERIOD: 0-14 DAYS

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) commences on day 3 and lasts for 16 days. Research indicates that little challenges and pressures in suitable dosages are beneficial for puppies and will aid in their development into strong, healthy, and well-adjusted adults. Increased stress tolerance and disease resistance, a quicker adrenal system, a faster heart rate, and a stronger heartbeat are among the benefits. This is a present that breeders can only give their puppies once within the 3-to-16-day span.

14 to 21 DAYS OF TRANSITION

Because every puppy is unique and these timelines are merely recommendations, behavioral indicators are utilized to determine the beginning and end of each maturation stage. The transitional period begins when the puppy's eyes open and ends when they startle for the first time when they hear sounds.

3-12 WEEKS DURING CRITICAL SOCIALIZATION

Most people believe that socialization involves introducing pups to as many new situations as possible when they are young. While this is a component of the process, it is not sufficient. Our mission is to breed dogs with the emotional intelligence required to form a bond with you. One of the objectives of the Puppy Culture Program is to instruct breeders on how to teach emotional intelligence to young puppies. A puppy's emotional intelligence can be fostered through seven essential factors.

Resilience

Simple interactions early in a puppy's life may enhance its ability to learn and successfully manage with stress, resulting in healthier results.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), which entails exposing very young animals to mild stresses for brief periods of time, is believed to improve their stress responses later in life.

The release of glucocorticoids (a class of stress hormones) from the adrenal cortex in response to stress influences numerous physiological processes. These alterations provide the basis of the "fight or flight" response. Mild, controlled, and short-term stressors can be advantageous, generating "resilience" in the body and reactions to a variety of surroundings and events.
